DAY 13: WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO HAVE CHOICES?

13.jpg

It’s Monday morning and while everyone is going to work I’m starting to slowly put together a plan on how I’m going to get through these next few month. It’s been almost 2 weeks since I left my job. I have a lot of questions that I’m thinking through. The two that are reoccurring are: Should I go back to the workplace as soon as possible or should I pursue entrepreneurship.

First of all I know what you’re thinking. What choice do I have? It’s interesting that’s a question you may have thought. And the answer is Yes. I believe we all have choices but most of us don’t exercise our right to choose. What do I mean? Think about it, isn’t it easier to have things already selected for you, direction already mapped out, and you tend to never complain because it’s fine. I believe small choices impact larger decisions we’ll make.

Do we have a choice to go to a job that we don’t think is the right fit? I think we do. I made the decision a few weeks ago that it was time to leave that job and focus on me. Do choices come with repercussions? Of course they do. Every decision you make there are pros and cons. If I leave this job how am I going to make money? What I’ve learned is that choices shouldn’t only be based on monetary compensation (externally) instead it should also take spiritual and mental being into consideration (internal).

My choice was made because I believed no amount of money could make me stay at a job I believed wasn’t the right fit spiritually and mentally which led me to making the decision to leave. We all have choices. Which ones are you avoiding or holding onto?
I am really interesting in what you have to say so please comment below so we can engage further. -Abu
