You are gifted, do not waste it

There are certain people that just know when to call and when you need some guidance. My coach is one of those people that always just knows. Since he became my mentor many years ago, my coach and I have a long history together. At that time, I was playing soccer on my way to play professionally, at least that’s what I thought. But throughout the years no matter which decision I’ve made coach has always been there to help guide me. In fact, my life would turned out completely different he hadn’t pushed me towards attending the Schreyer Honors College (thank you Schreyer’s for all that you’ve given and taught me. Shout out to Dean Brady (the tipping point, he was one of the main reasons I decided to attend), Dr. Kirsch, Mrs. Doberstein, Lisa Kerchinski, Donna Meyer, Chris Arbutina, and so many more that’s put me in the position I am today)

Today I received a call from coach because he had heard that I just left my job. He knew I wasn’t enjoying it but that’s not why he was calling to hear me complain. Instead, he had a few challenging questions for me: Do you know what you’re going to do next? What’s your plan buddy? These questions were expected but I didn’t quite have an answer for him yet. I was just enjoying being free from everything but I also knew this was an unrealistic lifestyle. I know I needed to get back to work and create a plan. Coach’s call this morning was a reality check..making me aware that I need to get back to what’s brought me here today.

There are people in your life that care about you and want to help you succeed in life.
